And Thus, Like a Self-Conscious Phoenix …

I poke my head up from the ashes and look around to make sure I won’t look like a complete fool as I try to rise again.
Seriously, though, it has been a while since I’ve posted anything, and I feel embarrassed about it. It’s been a really rough few years, and we went, more-or-less, into survival mode.
Perhaps I’ll write more about those things some day. There’s a lot of pain associated with much of it. But there’s good too. We adopted our youngest son, I changed jobs, and we recently moved across the country.
As we adjust to a new city, a new house, and (in many ways) a new life, I want to take stock of what all I am doing and why. What habits do I have which serve no purpose? Then I will look at whom I wish to be. What rituals and routines can I establish to begin the fake-it-till-you-make-it path to personal change? One of those changes is that I desire to write more and publish more. Perhaps even publish my book on foster care.
The first step towards this is to just it publish.
